Unable to get Ricoh Aficio MP 161 Printer to Scan a Document and Email it to Me
JustinMee Created on October 16, Otherwise I would just do that. I have been working at this unsuccessfully for about 15 hours straight with no luck. It was hard enough for me to get the darn thing to print because lamier postscript and stuff. How satisfied are you with this response?

JustinMee Replied on Lahier 16, Did this solve your problem? But this has not changed the fact that when I scan something and try to send it it says “Destination authentication failed. Basically when I select STMP settings on my printer and click test connection, with my current settings and port I am able to get it to say “Connection to PC successful” whereas before I was not.

Sorry this didn’t help. Also, because its a mac it also wont let me SMB with my computer credentials lajier just put the scan straight on my computer. Firstly, is this printer on the same network as your computer, and if so, may I ask why you are wanting to email the scan to yourself, rather than doing the scan from your computer?

If you have, then a workaround might be to scan to a USB memory stick or an SDHC card and transfer it to your MacBook the old fashioned way if the printer has that capability? Tell us about your experience with our site.
